Traditional Fruit Cake
Made with a mixture of dried fruits, peel, cherries and almonds, soaked in sherry for 48 hours prior to being incorporated into a mix of butter, sugar, and free range eggs. After being cooked very slowly for several hours, the end product is a rich moist fruity loaf.
If you like quality, this is it. Suitable for wedding and special occasion cakes when you want to impress.
Special Fruit Cake
If you prefer your cake with just currants, this is the one for you. Vostizza currants/ pinhead currants or siftings, when available, are incorporated with other traditional ingredients, a mixture of butter and vegetable margarine, free range eggs and sherry.
Not quite so rich as the traditional, but this cake has a superior flavour and texture.
